Motorcycle workshop in Bindlach – service for your bike

In our workshop in Bindlach motorcycles stand next to cars, and not just for decoration. We service your bike, change tyres and brakes, look after the chain and sprockets and prepare the machine for the season, for the TÜV test or for the winter break. Enduro, supermoto, naked bike or tourer: whoever works on a bike should know how it is meant to ride. We do.

Many riders from Bayreuth and the district come to us because the franchised dealer is far away or the waiting time in spring is long. With us you get a firm appointment, a clear price and a bike that runs. We only fit parts we source ourselves.

What we do

  • Servicing: inspection to the manufacturer’s specification, oil change with filter, air filter, spark plugs, checking and adjusting valve clearance, brake fluid, coolant
  • Tyres: fitting and balancing motorcycle tyres, advice on sport, touring and enduro rubber – depending on what is quicker, we do it ourselves or Reifenservice Roßner does it in the same building
  • Brakes: pads, discs, brake fluid, brake lines, bleeding
  • Chain and drive: replacing chain, front and rear sprockets, tensioning and lubricating the chain, chain sliders
  • Suspension: fork oil and seals, rear shock, steering head bearings, swingarm bearings, setting the suspension to your weight
  • Electrics: battery, charging system, starter motor, lighting, reading the fault memory
  • Seasons: spring check before the first ride out, getting the bike ready for winter in autumn, TÜV preparation
  • Repairs: carburettor and injection, clutch, leaks, crash damage

Our focus is single-cylinder and enduro machines such as the KTM 690, but we work on all common makes. If a job needs special tools that only the manufacturer has, we tell you in advance.

How it works

1Request an appointment

Tell us the make, model, year and mileage and what needs doing: a service that is due, new tyres, a problem. In spring the slots go quickly, so it is best to get in touch during the winter. You get an answer within one working day.

2Work in the workshop

You bring the bike in or we collect it. A tyre change takes about 45 to 60 minutes per wheel, a minor service about two hours, a major one with valve clearance a full day in the workshop. If we notice something, we call before we do it.

3Collection and test ride

After the work the bike goes out for a test ride, the chain and tyre pressures are checked, then we let you know. When you collect it we explain what was done and what is coming up at the next service. Overall one to two days in the workshop, longer if parts have to be ordered.

Frequently asked questions

Do you only do KTM or other makes as well?

All common makes. KTM and single-cylinder enduros are frequent visitors because we ride them ourselves, but Honda, Yamaha, BMW, Kawasaki, Suzuki or Ducati stand in the workshop just as often. Just ask about your model.

How long does a motorcycle service take?

A minor service with oil and filter about two hours, a major one with valve clearance and spark plugs a full day in the workshop. If parts have to be ordered, we schedule the appointment so that they are here.

What does a motorcycle inspection cost?

That depends on the model and the scope of the service. Tell us the bike and the mileage and you get a fixed price in advance. The same goes for servicing and for a chain and sprocket set. Additional work and repairs are only carried out after an estimate.

Can I bring my own tyres or parts?

No, please do not. We only fit parts and tyres we source ourselves, so that we can stand behind the quality and the fit. We are happy to order exactly the model you want.

Do you also prepare the bike for the TÜV test?

Yes. We go through the machine beforehand, check brakes, tyres, lights, steering head bearings and bodywork and fix what the examiner would flag. The roadworthiness test itself is carried out by TÜV SÜD, DEKRA or KÜS, and we take the bike there.

Can I store my motorcycle with you over the winter?

We do not have storage space for the winter. We will get your bike ready for it, though: battery, tank, chain and tyre pressures are all prepared for the break.
